I 100% consider myself a dog person, we have had dogs since I was baby. They have always been present in our family and when I left home the first 18 months in a rented property without a dog was very very odd. Luckily we had a landlord who was a friend of ours and he said I could have one which made me very happy!

The Dog we have now was only my second puppy of my own who we got back in 2014, Bentley. He’s a bit cranky and cantankerous, but he keeps me company all day every day, we go out for nice walks together and he gives me something extra to spend all my money on 🙄 To me cats just don’t provide the same level of companionship. They are too aloof and don’t really care whether you’re there or not as long as they get fed!

Where we live there is a nice lake and at the moment with it being May there are lots of ducklings and goslings which we often wander down to see even though they’re not particularly keen on Bentley. He is a gentle soul though and wouldn’t hurt a fly. He doesn’t even take any notice of them! To get there however we have to pass quite a lot of houses, now it’s a well-known fact that boy dogs like to mark their territory and all dogs shit. Imagine my surprise when having returned from one of our lovely walks together in the nice weather that we had when a Facebook post had been made by a resident describing me in minute detail and my dog leaving no room for mistaken identity because he had taken the opportunity to toilet on a piece of grass next to her home.

I am a responsible and conscientious Dog owner and ALWAYS pick up after my dog. Not only is it the right thing to do, but it’s also the law. She even makes reference to the fact that I did indeed pick it up … you just can’t win with some people! Against my better nature, I replied in a very controlled and polite manner and explained the situation. However, as you can see for yourselves, she ends that post with a threat. So what I really wanted to do was ask her, as she had clearly seen me, why she didn’t have the balls to come out and speak to me in person and also to tell her to go fuck herself 🤣 that’s more like my way of dealing with people like that!! I might be disabled and I might be on a mobility scooter, but I am in no way a victim and I will not be bullied or threatened. Still, I was a good girl and I was nice.

The post she wrote didn’t quite garner the response I think she was hoping for, not one person agreed with her and many many people placed a ❤️ on my response. I also received private messages of support from my neighbours and other people on the estate expressing their shock and disbelief at what she had written. Ha bloody ha, I win. I have to admit though her response to my comment with “ok thank you“ was genuinely disappointing. I was looking forward to changing tack and turning into my normal combative self, I only never got the opportunity. Sad times.

The offender! 💩 😂
